COMMUNITY INVOLVEMENT:

At JGMA we are committed to serving the communities around us. We believe that good design should not be exclusive to the affluent. We understand that in some cases the people who need good design the most are those that can seldom afford it. We are constantly searching for, and executing projects which best exemplify this notion. We strive to create spaces that are comfortable, immersed in daylight, unique, and affordable to their inhabitants. Most recently, we are focused on helping the not-for-profit organization, Tabula Rasa, to realize a building project that provides a structured, holistic and innovative environment that transitions at-risk young adults from incarcerated youth to independent contributing members of the community.

We have made it our goal to help organizations like Tabula Rasa develop spaces and programs which are vital to the development of our communities. Our other projects focused on facilitating community development include El Valor's International Inclusion Center for People with Disabilities in Chicago, the Instituto Health Science Career Academy High School in Chicago, the UNO New Elementary School in Chicago, and the Exploration Institute for Children and Youth with Disabilities in Guayaquil, Ecuador.

Our commitment to supporting community based non for profit organizations also goes beyond design services. We work with many of these organizations in identifying funding resources for portions of their projects like the sustainable or LEED aspects. We also act as advocates for these organizations in helping putting them in contact with decision makers from the public and private sectors.
